 Judy Welker,
a mother of seven kids, was an agent at a prominent local talent provider for many years before being approached by some our our market's top producers, suggesting she take on the much needed role of casting director for what was a rapidly growing market. Over 20 years ago, she started her own talent casting company. The resulting agency continues to be Indiana's only full-service casting company.
Judy became known to the people of Indianapolis for her extensive work at Indianapolis' first professional dinner theatre, The Black Curtain. While developing her on-stage talents in the early 1970's she was approached to also take part in the tiny but expanding local commercial market. Her kids still laugh about her days as the L. Fish Furniture mermaid. Though her casting responsibilities leave little time for Judy to work as talent these days, she has long been identified as the popular radio character, “Ed's Mom” for Edwards Transmissions and Engines, a role she has played for more than 15 years.
For several decades, Judy has built a reputation for being a caring teacher, a tough but respected director of talent and a supremely qualified casting expert. She knows how to bridge what is often a very large gap from client to talent.
Today, Judy is the co-owner and president of Artistic Enterprises, Inc. She is the nuts and bolts behind the company, the CEO, the CFO and the operations manager, all tied into one. Still happy to greet and consult with new talent and to advise our veterans when they need it, most of what Judy does these days is much the needed, behind-the-scenes activity required to keep everything running.
 Michelle Moore
joined her mother, Judy Welker, in the casting business in 1990, but her experience in the commercial industry began well before then. Michelle was a child commercial actress and model in Indianapolis throughout the 1970s and '80s. Since joining Artistic Enterprises, she has expanded our children's division and has become talent liaison for all ages to both the AFTRA and SAG unions.
Michelle has paid special attention to the rampant infestation of con-artists who operate on the fringe of the commercial talent industry and has made a concerted effort to keep people aware of the many scams they try to perpetrate on hopeful actors and models and on the parents of young children.
Michelle has two great kids, Christopher and Alaina, who love to spend summer weekends going on short trips in the family camper. Though she rarely appears in commercials these days, in her spare time, Michelle enjoys directing, producing and performing in community theater.
 Skip Welker
joined forces with the fairer members of his family in the mid 90s, helping to change the course of Artistic Enterprises, making it the company it is today. As business manager and co-owner, Skip is often the primary contact for our clients, making sure that the product they receive specifically meets their talent expectations. He is frequently found running the casting sessions and has built a reputation with our top actors for providing a level of direction, empathy and attention to detail that they've not found anywhere else.
Skip attended Warsaw High School where he won state-wide honors in Dramatic and Comedic Declamations, thereby launching a lifetime involvement in the performing arts. After completing a scholarship season with the the famous Pasadena Playhouse, he returned to graduate from Indiana University with a degree in Business Marketing. While at IU he was involved in every phase of Theatre, Radio, and TV, even hosting his own radio and TV show. He was a regular performer the IU Main stage, the Brown County Playhouse, The Showboat Majestic, and The Indiana University Graduate Repertory Theatre. Throughout the years, Skip has kept his acting and directing chops fresh by participating in countless professional productions and community arts projects.
Skip is an avid sports fan and golf enthusiast. He married Judy in December of 1974. They are the proud grandparents of ten beautiful children, with whom they spend as much time as possible.
Chris Johnson
rounds out our primary staff at Artistic Enterprises. In her ten years as office manager, she has become everyone's go-to girl. She is the voice you expect to hear when you call and the face you expect to see when you walk in the door. Not only does Chris keep the office running, but she makes it her business to know our talent and easily builds a warm rapport with every one of them. She is the glue that holds it all together.
Chris hails from Danville, Illinois where she began her professional life as an information operator for Ma Bell. The multi-tasking and people-pleasing skills she learned in the communications world have translated perfectly to the casting business.
Chris still enjoys frequent trips home to visit family and friends. In addition to being Mommy to her two gorgeous little ones, Emma and Brody, Chris provides a loving home for her grandmother, leaving her little time for a social life. That doesn't stop her from trying!
